I'm Jen Nichols...I love hearing that name. Dave and I now live in West Jordan. Dave currently works at Pioneer Valley Hospital and Jordan Valley Medical Center. He is a Therapist for Pioneer Valley Hospital and does crisis work for them as well. Reagan is 3 yrs old and she is only getting cuter. Matthew just joined our little family on March 22, 2012. He is a sweet little guy. We are just enjoying the ride.
Dave had the day off on Friday again because he worked the previous sunday. So we decided to head to ogden to the dinosaur park. Matthew and Reagan were both really excited when we mentioned where we were going. Reagan kept asking are we there yet are we there yet. As soon as we drove into the park there were dinosaurs at the entrance and both Reagan and Matthew were like wow look at the cool dinosaurs. It was smaller than I thought it would be but it was a nice day so we took our time around the park. We had the double stroller out to put matthew in and just in case Reagan got tired. I also grabbed the elephant leash for Matthew just in case. He gets pretty lively and wants to run everywhere and hates being held back or holding my hand anywhere. so I was pretty reluctant to use it on him I was afraid he would be screaming through the park the whole time. Well we had him in the stoller and that lasted for a few min. and he started kicking and screaming so we decided to try the leash. He actually did really good with it. I just let him lead me around. He loved being able to walk around himself. Both of my kids are pretty independent. Reagan did get tired and used the stroller to sit in for a while. Anyway the park was cool but like I said smaller than I thought it would be. But the kids had a great time and were really sad that we had to go home when we were done. Reagan keeps asking me when we are going back.
As I started my normal routine this morning of getting up then getting the kids up and dressed and fed and then myself ready to go all before heading to the gym at 8 something. I noticed Dave was not doing his usual routine. He sat down next to me after getting Matthew dressed and said "So...what do you want to do today?" I was like what? and he said I have the day off today. He said he wanted it to be a surprise. Well it was an awesome surprise because this never happens and I mean never! So we decided to go up big cottonwood canyon to donut falls. We had never been but herd it was an easy fun little hike that little families would enjoy up to the falls. Well what we thought was supposed to be easy was not so easy with a 4 and 2 year old. it was uphill most of the way...which we figured out of course we went the wrong way. But all in all the kids did good. there was a little whining here and there and Matthew absolutely refused to hold either of our hands always saying I got it I got it. and there were many rocks on the trail so there was lots of falling, by the kids I mean. We made it to the falls and the kids loved it and thought it was really cool. By the time we got back to the car the kids were pretty dirty. But it was worth it because we got to spend some much needed time with Dave. It was a beautiful day and the majority of the hike was in the shade making the hike very nice indeed.
