4th of July

This 4th of July Dave was not with us. He went to Alabama to visit Bobby and Kira and their new baby for the baby blessing. So it was just me and the kids. My brother LJ and Hannah were in town for the holiday so we went over to my parents house for a BBQ. But first we stopped at the alpine splash pad to play for a couple of hours. It was such a beautiful day today. and it was nice to take Reagan and Matthew both to the splash pad. I was a little worried because the last time I took them to that particular splash pad it was last summer and yes my sister and mom were with me. which was nice because they could watch Reagan while I literally chased Matthew around everywhere! He has calmed down quite a bit since then. Don't misunderstand me he still is everywhere and defiantly keeps me on my toes most of the time. But he is listening better and talking better and he didn't really enjoy the splash pad this time around so he was content to just hang around the edges watching the other children play. My parents and my sister came this time and it was nice to just sit with them and chat and be able to keep an eye on both children. After the splash pad we went to my parents for a BBQ and had some delicious food and the kids got to play around with their aunt and uncle for a while. The kids were so tired that they both fell asleep on the drive home. But when we got home we made smores in the oven and then did some poppers and sparklers. We waited a little bit for it to get dark then did some little fireworks of our own. Reagan was saying "oh I am loving this" and matthew was saying " oh! Wow! this is awesome!!" it was so cute. We got to sit on our front lawn and watch some pretty cool fireworks that were being set off around the neighborhood. By the time I got them inside and brushed their teeth they were so tired. Matthew went right to his bed and collapsed on it and Reagan was out about a minute after that. Glad they got to have such a great day even though Daddy wasn't here we still had fun. And we hope he enjoys his trip to see his brother and their cute new baby!
