Pioneer Youth Parade

This year the kids got to participate in the youth parade for the pioneer celebration. At first the kids had a hard time because we had to line up like an hour before the parade actually began and it was really hot. But as soon as Grandpa showed up they were in better spirits. Dave was super tired because he had just gotten home the night before really late from a training in texas. But the whole experience was really fun we were even on t.v. Our stakes float won the theme award so it was going to be in the pioneer day parade on that coming Monday. The theme was scripture power and all the kids got to make their own shirts. The kids were also given stickers with the names of pioneer children that walked the plaines. it was really neat to see all the kids representing a different pioneer child. After the parade there was a carnival for the kids. it was pretty packed so we didn't stay that long.

4th of July Weekend

We had a really fun 4th this year. We started off by going to the west Jordan carnival. The kids were a little disappointed that they couldn't go on everything but they soon started to have fun. Reagan got sad because she wasn't tall enough to go on a ride that she thought looked really fun. But all in all it was fun. We then went to the park for a bit and then went to a pizza buffet and ate way to much pizza. And if that wasn't enough we then went to get ice cream after that! Next we spent the entire 4th at Aunt Jenny and uncle Chris's house. There was swimming, bbq, fireworks and most important family that we haven't seen in a while and new family that we just met. What a great time to be with family and being thankful for all that this country allows us to do. That we have the freedom to choose whatever religion we want and be able to practice it. We sure do love this great country.
